Luke's professionalism, personality and creative eye are a powerful trifecta that makes him one of my favorite photographers! He has taken photos for my sister's twin babies and my friend's kids---and he's also taken wedding photographs for one of my best friends who got married in Calistoga, CA. They were incredible photos! I have been a part of many weddings over the years, and I can honestly say, his shots were tops. He does incredibly unique shots with incredible equipment. He's not afraid to go for that perfect shot, and he thinks of everything along the way. He's passionate about his craft and completely professional about his business. If you're looking for unique and gorgeous shots for your special occasion, I'd highly recommend Luke!

Again and again, I look over the hundreds of photographs of our wedding back in August 2008. My heart is touched and I am transported back in time.
Luke captured all of the best parts - from the candid, intimate shots of me with my bride, to the more formal, picture-perfect group pictures. His work is professional - but not staged. His photography is beautiful, organic, natural.

In one word - Incredible. My then fiancee, now wife, and I interviewed nine different photographers before we were fortunate enough, or blessed enough rather, to come across Luke Snyder. Planning a wedding is difficult, and finding a stellar photographer is paramount. Many photographers are only camera enthusiasts: they enjoy shooting and they have an expensive lens. However, the distinguishing factor that places Luke in the small echelon of truly gifted photographers is that Luke is an artist.
Anyone with a camera can line up the bride and groom and have them smile. Luke captures the moments that are not posed, the moments that end up being closest to our hearts. Luke will give you thousands, literally, of images showing the unadulterated smiles of a genuinely happy family members that do not know they are being observed. He works viciously hard to get the perfect shot and somehow does not make his presence known. On top of this, Luke has the wherewithal to step in and act as a pseudo wedding coordinator if your special day is not going perfect. At one point during my wedding day, each of my wife's bridesmaids commented on the phenomenal work of Luke. Days after our wedding, my grandparents still talked about him. If I had to plan our wedding again, I would choose Luke a thousand times over.
Let me start off by saying that perfection is not even going to come close to Luke's style of photography and end result. And, we havent even gotten our wedding pictures, just seen the sneak peeks and capture everything we were feeling that day.
We picked Luke bc of his style of photography and passion for what he does. The day of the wedding is the first time that we had ever met him and it felt like we had been friends for a lifetime. When we had our first look before the wedding we didnt even notice that Luke was there taking pictures and that goes for the entire wedding. He really listened to what Alex and I wanted out of our photographs and understood the direction that we were hoping for. If you are looking for a photographer to add to your already special day and for the many more years to come then hire Luke. There is no amount of money that you will be able to pay him for what he produces on your wedding day. We are only sad about one thing, and that is that our wedding is once in a lifetime. If we ever renew our vows Luke will be there. Get him now before someone else does!
Luke Snyder is a GEM!! We were beyond thrilled to book him as our wedding photographer, and he exceeded our expectations on the big day. Here are some reasons why we love Luke:
- He has an amazing attitude. Luke somehow can be laid-back, professional, and giggling with joy all at the same time. His personality quickly put our family and friends at ease. It takes a delicate balance to create quality art without being demanding or difficult, and Luke definitely achieves this!
- He is efficient! We've witnessed so many wedding photo shoots that were painfully long, full of downright cheesy poses. Luke was able to capture over a thousand breathtaking/joyful/priceless images of our special day, without keeping us from actually enjoying the day. And they were all completely natural. Hallelujah!
- He has a great eye. We rarely felt like we had to pose for Luke because he captured the emotion of the moment so brilliantly on his own. We were also amazed that he could capture the personalities and love of our family and friends without having met them before.
- He is a GIFTED artist. We have heard non-stop praises of our wedding photos from everyone from grandma to our artist friends. Somehow amidst running around, capturing one moment to the next, Luke was able to produce some of the most beautiful images we've ever seen.
My husband and I worked with Luke Snyder for our August 2008 wedding. Once we discovered his work there was never any question for us about hiring him to photograph our wedding (My husband is a photographer as well and so he had some pretty high standards!). I have come into contact with very few people as knowledgeable and professional as we found Luke to be. From our first phone call to the day we received the DVD's of our photographs he was a pleasure to work with. He even gave us suggestions for different parts of the ceremony and all of those suggestions turned out to be my favorite moments.
Neither I nor any of our wedding guests can speak highly enough of him! Luke was so passionate and had an amazing energy about him that really translated into one of a kind photographs. He ran about all day capturing every creative angle, from laying on the forest floor to running down a dusty hill. His journalistic style was better at capturing the memories of our wedding day than even my own hazy bride memory was able to. Luke seems to specialize in figuring out the what the depths of a certain scene are and then maximizing that content. There's never a 'flat' photo.
Everyone who has seen our pictures, from family to strangers, has told us how lucky we were to have our photographer. I recommend him constantly to anyone and everyone I can as my husband and I both agree whole heartily that hiring Luke was the best decision we made for our wedding (besides getting married!) If we could have tipped him twice his price, we would have!

His passion and experience are so evident in the way he works. Luke was insanely easy to work with, through skype sessions, pre-wedding walk throughs, and day of photo excursions, it was a blast to be photographed by him. Oh, and also, the photos are unbelievably amazing. His energy and yearn for the "emotional moments" were great to keep in mind and made us take a moment to pause on the great experience we were having at our wedding. Luke was such a pleasure and we feel truly honored to have had him photograph our wedding.

We could not have been more thrilled with Luke and the photos he took of our wedding weekend this past June in Calistoga. Not only did he capture the overall event happenings, he captured priceless, thoughtful moments of our wedding weekend. Extremely professional, responsible, and blended in well with the event. Very easy to work with and love his documentary style. And a lovely guy on top of it all. I would highly recommend his work.
Search no further for your wedding photographer: Luke Snyder is the best there is! Luke photographed our wedding and also did our engagement photo session. The pictures came out just incredible! Luke is not just a photographer but an artist. He will make sure you look your best on all the pictures and he will capture the mood of the day just perfectly. We had to cancel our initially picked photographer after we saw Luke's work, and we don't regret it a bit. Thank you, Luke, for the precious moments preserved for a lifetime.
